Cape Town MTB Trails and Guided Rides
Cape Town is one of the few cities where world-class singletrack starts minutes from the city centre. Table Mountain National Park, coastal fynbos, rolling vineyards and ocean views frame trails for every level, from flowing berms to technical rock descents.
Cape Adventures guides riders at three of the area’s best trail networks. Choose a venue below, or tell us your ability and how long you have and we’ll recommend one.

When to ride
Cape Town rides well all year. From October to March the trails are fast, firm and dry, so we start early to beat the heat and the wind. From April to September, damp clay in the Winelands gives superb grip, while Tokai’s rock sections reward careful line choice.
Why ride with a guide
Cape Town’s trail networks have complex intersections, permit rules and private-land access. We handle the permits, choose the right sequence of trails for your ability and carry spares and first-aid equipment, so you can concentrate on the riding. Helmets are mandatory on all trails, and we ask riders to respect the fynbos and wildlife in the national park.

What Riders Say About Our Cape Town MTB Tours
Plan Your Cape Town Local Riding Adventure
★★★★★
This was my first time hiring a guide for MTB and I have to say it was the best I could have asked for! Philip is a very competent rider and intimately familiar with the local trails (Tokai Forest), and was able to coach me through sections easily. I've been mountain biking for several years, and he scaled the level of guiding perfectly to my skill level. On top of that, the bike (Trek Slash 8) was awesome: great bike, solid component spec, and very well-maintained. I even think it was quieter than my own bike at home 😂 Solid 5 stars, will definitely come back next time I'm in South Africa. Go ride!
